Twisted Bear

Sometimes I see yarn at the store, and I buy it because it looks kinda cool, like Bernat Softee Chunky Twists. Since I work mostly with solids, it has been sitting in my closet for years because I couldn’t think of anything to make with it.

I settled upon the Ruby Bear pattern and worked it in the round rather than flat since I am pretty allergic to seaming. Instead of starting with 18 stitches, I modified it to start with 9 stitches; I felt that the hole was too big with the original amount. The bear’s limbs are attached with stitches rather than buttons.

I’m quite happy with how the bear turned out even though I sewed the head on sideways – I have no idea how that happened! I just tried to twist it a bit more to the center and reinforced the neck stitches. Yui seems quite happy to pose with him too.
