The perils of buying yarn

A few weeks ago, my sister-in-law and her friend expressed an interest in learning how to knit. I met up with them a few times and showed them some basics. This invariably led to a shopping trip for yarn.

J wanted to get some yarn for a headband, and K wanted to get a blanket project going so we went to Michael’s. I had too many projects rattling around in my brain, and none of the yarn really appealed to me at the time so it took me a while to find something. I settled on some Paton’s Classic Wool Worsted and Wool Roving. I’d been considering a triangular shawl for a project and a minty colored hat with a little bit of Fair Isle.

The problem is that when you sign up for Michael’s rewards program, they send you coupons. The next weekend I found myself back there. Two hours later, after much hemming and hawing, and checking of Ravelry and Pinterest, I came home with this:

I vowed that my yarn addiction was over.

Hahahaha.

Of course a few weeks later they have 55% off yarn. Of course I have to go back.
