Baby gifts for my cousin

I am so glad that no one will really see the bottom of this adorable flower hat that I made my for cousin who’s having a baby girl. Since they live in a warm, tropical climate, I made it with cotton yarn – Lily Sugar’n Cream. I held the yarn double for the petals so it would look thicker. This was also the first time I made an I-cord for the stem, and I am quite happy with the result.

Thank goodness no one will look at the bottom of this hat; I slovenly sewed the petals on. My first I-cord though so: whoo! Pattern is Upside-Down Daisy by Susan B. Anderson from the book Itty-Bitty Hats. #knit #knitting #babyknit #handmade

To go with it, I made a cute little top in white with pink buttons. The pattern is super easy, and the little lace details are so sweet. The only thing I’d do differently is place the second button a bit higher; I think it looks a little weird after the garter detail.
